(Transcribed by TurboScribe.ai. Go Unlimited to remove this message.) Hello everybody, welcome to Conspiracies Debunked. I am Rebecka, your host, and today I have a guest with me, Marcus, who believes the Earth is flat. So, tell me Marcus, when did you start believing this? Yeah, well, first of all, thank you for having me. I started believing the Earth is flat, I believe right after high school. I think that's when I realized that the schools and the government and everything is just trying to hoax us into believing something we shouldn't. Okay, interesting theory. We'll get more into that after this short intro. Okay, why don't you start telling me some short example of why you think the Earth is flat? Well, I mean, look around you. You look out into the ocean or anywhere, everything is flat. The water is always level. I mean, if I have water in my glass, it's perfectly flat. The horizon is completely straight, and especially, as I said, I don't trust NASA. NASA has all the right equipment so they could lie to us just to take our money, and for me that's enough evidence. Okay, so I think a very strong documentary that was made recently is the documentary Behind the Curve. Have you watched it? Yeah, I watched most of it at least, and I think that's a very great argument you're taking up. It just proves to me that the Earth is flat. So you don't believe in any scientific evidence that NASA has made or said, like the pictures taken? Well, I believe that NASA and most of the government-issued corporations and scientists have all the right reasons to lie to us, and I think just because of that, I don't have any reason to trust them. And especially if we look at, as I said, the curve, I think that's a very great argument. What arguments do you have against me that says the Earth is round if I look out and everything is flat? Well, the Earth is very, very large, so you can't see the curve. It's, like, gradual. You don't see it by just looking out, but you can see, when you look out at the horizon, if the Earth was flat, wouldn't you be able to see other countries? Like, if a boat is sailing out in the horizon, it slowly disappears from bottom to top, proving that the Earth is round. Well, I mean, just like a fog, you can't see very far, and I think there's always a slight fog in the air, so, I mean, if there weren't any, like, moisture in the air or atmospheric distortion, maybe I could see Mount Everest from my house, but that's just not possible. So you say that you see a fog that's covering all of the other countries? Yeah, exactly. Okay. Maybe we can talk more about NASA, why you don't believe that they are telling the truth, like big corporations. Yeah, well, I think, I mean, if NASA... NASA, of course, knows that the Earth is flat, but they say that the Earth is round so they can do experiments and get huge amounts of money from the government so they can just fund each other all the time. I mean, it's logical. Why wouldn't they lie? Well, because they are scientists who have a strong belief in wanting to know why some things happen or to study the Earth. They want the tax money to do experiments so that they can know more about where we live and maybe improve the way we live. Yeah, that's just not true. I think maybe they say they are scientists so they can earn more money or something. I think that's just stupid. I mean, if you look at airplanes, for example, planes should fly off the curve. I mean, if an airplane starts and they fly straight up, shouldn't the pilots have to dip the nose all the time to keep going downwards? Well, planes naturally follow the curvature of the Earth because the Earth's gravity keeps them close. You hear pilots talking about maintaining altitude, which they set an altitude which they maintain throughout their journey. They don't have to keep dipping their nose because the Earth pulls them towards the surface. I mean, do you really believe everything they say? If you believe gravity, then why don't you explain it to me? Well, gravity is between two objects and because the Earth's mass is so great, it has a great force of attraction on us. Because we are so small and everything else and the Earth is so big, it pulls us continuously towards it. Yeah, well, as I said on NASA and them lying, I mean, what if you look at Mark Sargent, for example, the one doing the Behind the Curve documentary? He has no reason to lie to me on why the Earth is flat. But NASA and scientists have all the reasons. Why would they lie to me? Well, Mark Sargent, you bring up the documentary again, they actually disproved themselves during the filming of the documentary. Yeah, well, that I think is just another NASA lie. Maybe they distorted the lights, knew they were going to do it and messed up with their equipment or something in that direction. But they did a very thorough experiment. They were so consistent with the height of the two walls and the height of the holes and how far from the sea level they had to hold the light to see it through the holes if the Earth was flat and it didn't work. Yeah, that is what they want you to believe. They are lying just like the corporations and scientists and everything else. So you believe like IKEA is lying to you about the shape of the Earth? Yes. So have I convinced you yet after all of this? No, I don't think so. But I can't see your points. They are valid. But I think you need to evaluate if you really should believe NASA or not. Okay, thank you for coming onto here despite me not being able to convince you. You have your beliefs, I have mine. And I want to thank everyone for listening to our podcast. We will be back next week with a new conspiracy. We will be meeting someone who believes that they were a part of Illuminati.
